Rasmussen has these statistics about the demographics of the election right now. I suspect last night’s speech by Gov. Palin will move some women into the McCain camp. But what I found most interesting is the wine and guns information. Nothing wrong with a glass of wine, mind you. But it gives a pretty clear indication of how the electorate is dividing up over these two candidates.
Obama currently leads McCain by fourteen points among women but trails by four among men. Obama does better among those who would prefer a glass of wine than he does with beer drinkers. McCain has a huge lead among gun owners while Obama leads among households without a gun.
